This is a significant development, marking a pivotal moment for the restoration and ecological health of the Boardman/Ottaway River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, in partnership with local contractor Spence Brothers, have finalized the contract and expect to proceed with initial site prep work this spring. The newly built surgical suites at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma are now operational! Spence Brothers constructed four brand-new operating rooms along with a Sterile Processing Department. The 51,200-square-foot renovation broke ground in Summer 2022. Currently, the final touches are being placed on the new main entrance, which is scheduled to open soon. The last phase of construction will involve transforming the existing operating rooms into private pre-operative and recovery rooms, a fully equipped post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), and a day surgery area. We are incredibly honored for our partnership with the Grand Hotel and all the fantastic subcontractors who have worked alongside us on this restoration. We’re nearing the end of year two of construction, and already looking forward to the next! Thank you for entrusting Spence Brothers to preserve this National Historic Landmark, ensuring the Grand Hotel’s legacy continues for generations to come.

An endeavor 7 years in the making, ground was finally broken at Webster Community Center this week 🎉 The former Webster Elementary School, built in 1920 and shuttered in 2007, is now being renovated by Micah 6 Community to become a mixed-use community center featuring a collection of local nonprofits, small businesses, and community-minded organizations. Together, they seek to build a brighter future for the Pontiac, MI community. Spence Brothers will serve as the construction manager renovating the historic facility, preserving its historical integrity. Follow us for project updates! Every bunny loves construction! 🐰🚧 The famous Saginaw bunnies are now displayed on the courthouse lawn, including the brand-new Spence Brothers bunny. Our bunny’s hard hat features a “Scotty Strong” sticker in memory of Spence Brothers Superintendent Scott Kaczmarek. 🧡 Spence Brothers’ bunny was painted and decorated by students in the Saginaw Career Complex Graphic Arts Program. Last week marked the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Hutson, Inc.'s impressive new facility in Charlotte, MI. Hutson, one of the top John Deere dealers in North America, entrusted Spence Brothers with the construction management of this new state-of-the-art facility. On March 1st, we had the privilege of attending the Ribbon Cutting and Open House hosted by Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College to celebrate the opening of their new campus. The renovation of this 56,000-square-foot facility has enabled the college to consolidate its facilities into a single building, providing an updated and modern campus for the students, faculty, staff, and community.
